## Synopsis

The Legend of Prince Valiant (1991-1993) is an American animated fantasy adventure series created for The Family Channel, adapting the comic strip tradition into a two-season run of 65 half-hour episodes. Robby Benson voices the dispossessed Prince Valiant, whose kingdom has been usurped and who sets out across medieval lands to find Camelot and join King Arthur's Knights of the Round Table. Along the way he is joined by companions including the loyal Arn, voiced by Michael Horton, and encounters Merlin, voiced by Alan Oppenheimer, and King Arthur, voiced by Efrem Zimbalist Jr. Each episode is largely self-contained, built around a new trial, rescue, or rival knight that tests the prince's courage and sense of honor. The engine is a steady pilgrimage toward a legendary court, with chivalric virtue as its moral backbone. Tone is earnest, warm, and gently heroic, with bright hand-drawn-style color and a classic storybook sensibility. Viewers who enjoy Gargoyles and Excalibur will find a similar appetite for knightly romance and Arthurian myth. Its modest episodic format suits younger audiences and nostalgic rewatches alike.
