## Synopsis

Gogglebox (2013-present) is a British reality television series created for Channel 4, produced by Studio Lambert, and now in its twenty-eighth season. Rather than following a scripted plot, it films ordinary households across the country as they sit on their sofas and react to the best and worst television of the past week. Regular household members such as Stephen Lustig-Webb, Daniel Lustig-Webb, Pat Webb, Jenny Newby, Lee Riley, Tom Malone Sr. and Julie Malone (all appearing as themselves) trade blunt, unguarded opinions about soaps, dramas, quiz shows and reality formats. The engine of each episode is the bickering, laughter and sharp verdicts that arise as the families dissect familiar programmes, so the format feels like overhearing a lively conversation in a front room. Episodes run around forty-seven minutes and are built as a continuous, ever-expanding series rather than a set of standalone stories. The tone is warm, candid and frequently funny, with a relatable everyday feel that appeals to anyone who has ever shouted at the telly. Fans of The Only Way Is Essex, Mock the Week and Would I Lie to You? will find a similar appetite for British television commentary and pop culture banter. Its casual, comfortable energy makes it an easy companion for an evening in.
