## Synopsis

Hanzawa Naoki (2013-2020) is a Japanese corporate drama series created by Jun Ikeido for TBS. Masato Sakai plays Naoki Hanzawa, a stubborn loan manager at the Osaka Nishi branch of Tokyo Central Bank, who is forced to approve a 500 million yen loan to a steel company that turns out to be hiding massive debt through fraudulent accounts. When the company collapses and his ambitious branch manager Asano tries to pin the blame on him, Hanzawa must face an inquiry at headquarters in Tokyo and promise to recover the money. Aya Ueto plays his wife Hana, and Teruyuki Kagawa and Kinya Kitaoji appear among the rival executives who block his path. The engine of each episode is a battle of documents, meetings, and calculated exposures, with Hanzawa using corporate procedure as a weapon against those who would sacrifice him. Across two seasons of ten episodes each, the story stays focused on one long campaign of accountability. The tone is tense, sharp, and driven by cold confrontations and quiet defiance, with flashes of dark humor. Fans of Suits, Industry, and Succession will find resonance in its portrait of power, ambition, and institutional rot.
