## Synopsis

Army Wives (2007-2013) is an American drama series created by Katherine Fugate for Lifetime. Centered on Denise Sherwood (Catherine Bell), Claudia Joy Holden (Kim Delaney), Roxy LeBlanc (Sally Pressman) and Pamela Moran (Brigid Brannagh), the show follows four army wives living on a US military post while their husbands are deployed or facing the strain of service. Their households also include Roland Burton (Sterling K. Brown) and Michael Holden (Brian McNamara), whose families mirror the pressures of military life. The engine of the series is the daily work of holding a household together during separation, from childcare and money worries to marriages tested by absence and the fear of a knock on the door. Each season moves through a steady run of episodes built around family crises, romances and small-town post gossip, and the show spans seven seasons of continuing storylines rather than standalone cases. Set in contemporary America on a fictional army base, it is a soapy, emotionally heightened melodrama with a warm, sisterly core. Fans of Brothers and Sisters, Desperate Housewives and Friday Night Lights will find resonance in its ensemble of women and its blend of domestic drama and community loyalty.
