## Synopsis

Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts (2010-2011) is a Japanese animated school comedy series produced by SILVER LINK., KADOKAWA and Media Factory and broadcast on TV Tokyo. The series follows Akihisa Yoshii (voiced by Hiro Shimono), a lazy student placed in the lowest F Class, whose life is shaped by a school where the Promotion Test sorts pupils into classes ranging from luxurious A Class to crumbling F Class. Hitomi Harada voices Mizuki Himeji, a top student whose presence stirs his ambitions, while Kaori Mizuhashi, Tatsuhisa Suzuki and Tomomi Isomura voice his classmates who share the cramped, rotten-tatami classroom. The engine of each episode is the Examination Summons Battle system, in which students summon avatars matching their test marks and fight rival classes to climb the ranks. Two seasons of thirteen episodes each keep the stakes light but the rivalries escalating. The tone is breezy, parodic and affectionate, mixing crude jokes, romantic misunderstandings and exaggerated battle spectacle. Fans of Gintama, Ouran High School Host Club and Yu-Gi-Oh! will find the same mix of shounen energy and ensemble humor. Set in a contemporary Japanese high school, it is a playful, accessible shounen comedy for viewers who enjoy absurd competition and cheerful classroom chaos.
