## Synopsis

Moone Boy (2012-2015) is a Sky One Irish sitcom created by Chris O'Dowd, who also plays the title companion Sean Murphy, an imaginary friend only young Martin Moone (David Rawle) can see. Martin is a sensitive, imaginative boy navigating the daily muddle of a loud, eccentric household in a small Irish town, where his mother Debra (Deirdre O'Kane) and his sisters keep the house in constant commotion. Sean is never quite what Martin needs, offering shaky advice and bolder schemes that drag the boy into trouble with school, neighbours and his own nerves. Each episode is a self-contained comic scrape built from ordinary concerns like friendship, first crushes, embarrassing family outings and small local rivalries, all filtered through a child's logic. The show spans three seasons of eighteen episodes in total, with a runtime of about twenty-two minutes each. Its warm, wry, lightly surreal tone and nostalgic 1980s detail give it a gentle, bittersweet heart. Fans of Father Ted, Derry Girls and The Wonder Years will find resonance in its blend of quirky small town humour and coming of age sweetness.
