## Synopsis

TURN: Washington's Spies (2014-2017) is an American period spy drama created by Craig Silverstein for AMC. Jamie Bell plays Abraham Woodhull, a New York farmer who gathers his childhood friends into the Culper Ring, a covert network of ordinary civilians working against the British occupation of Long Island and Manhattan during the American Revolution. Seth Numrich plays Ben Talmadge, Heather Lind plays Anna Strong, and Burn Gorman plays Major Hewlett, whose loyalties and rivalries drive much of the tension. The engine of the series is simple and dangerous: the ring must pass coded letters, forge documents, and dodge informants while the people they love are caught between the Crown and the rebellion. Each season is one continuing story of four seasons across forty episodes, so order matters as the network grows more exposed. The atmosphere is gritty and tense, with muddy camps, candlelit safehouses, and the constant threat of discovery. Its tone blends suspense with moral weight, and the series foregrounds loyalty and sacrifice. Fans of Sleepy Hollow, Berlin Station, and Taboo will find resonance in its mix of historical texture and clandestine intrigue.
