## Synopsis

Quick Draw (2013-2014) is an American improvised western comedy series created by John Lehr and Nancy Hower for Hulu. Written loosely around its performers, the show follows Sheriff John Henry Hoyle, played by John Lehr, as he struggles to bring law and civility to a raucous nineteenth century frontier town. Allison Dunbar appears as a principal cast member alongside a rotating group of colorful townsfolk, gunmen and shopkeepers who keep disrupting his plans. Each short episode runs about twenty-two minutes and is built from scene to scene chaos, with the sheriff's dignified ambitions repeatedly undercut by the chaos around him. The series runs across two seasons and eighteen episodes, and it is a playful, irreverent take on the western that lands somewhere between a sitcom and a sketch-driven romp. Its tone is breezy and absurd, with a loose, spontaneous feel that rewards viewers who enjoy the comic energy of improv groups. Fans of Deadwood for its frontier setting, Upright Citizens Brigade for its improvised rhythms and Lucky Luke for its lighthearted lawman comedy will find resonance here. The show was canceled after its second season, leaving its wider story unfinished.
