## Synopsis

Code:Breaker is a 2012 Japanese anime action series created as a Kinema Citrus production, adapted from a manga and airing in a single thirteen-episode season. Sakurakouji Sakura (voiced by Yoko Hikasa) appears modest and graceful but secretly fights with real martial arts skill. After she witnesses a classmate burning people with blue flame, she discovers that the transfer student Oogami Rei (voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto) is a Code Breaker, a person officially said not to exist. Oogami operates by an eye for an eye code, using evil against evil, and Sakura is determined to stop him and reach the icy heart beneath his cold exterior. The engine of the show is a steady push and pull between her idealism and his lethal certainty, played out through confrontations with rival powered figures and the shadowy society that hunts them. Its episodes are built around fights, power clashes and escalating reveals within a contemporary Japanese high school setting. The mood mixes playful school-life banter with brutal supernatural combat, grounding its fantasy in everyday classroom routines. Fans of Blue Exorcist and Darker than Black will find resonance in its blend of teenage cast, secret powers and morally conflicted action. Despite its short run, the series carries a tense, intense register that rewards viewers who enjoy anime action with a strong emotional core.
