## Synopsis

Master's Sun (2013) is a South Korean supernatural romantic comedy created by Hong Mi-ran and Hong Jeong-eun for SBS. Arrogant, greedy conglomerate CEO Joo Joong-won (So Ji-sub) runs Kingdom, a business empire that includes a supermall and a hotel, and he is convinced that Tae Gong-shil (Gong Hyo-jin) is out of her mind. Gong-shil is a misunderstood outcast who cannot hold on to a boyfriend or a job since a near-death experience left her able to see needy ghosts. She feels compelled to help these spirits resolve their unfinished earthly business so they can move on to the afterlife, and every case drags her deeper into the orbit of the man who thinks she is crazy. Supporting roles from Seo In-guk, Kim Yoo-ri and Hwang Sun-hee add a secondary romance and a tangle of rivalries and history. The show is a single season of seventeen episodes, structured around a case of the spirit of the week that feeds a growing central romance. Its tone is breezy and comic, full of hijinx and misunderstandings, with a warm undercurrent of trauma and loss. Fans of Goblin and My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho will find resonance in its blend of fantasy, banter and romance.
