## Synopsis

Extant (2014-2015) is a American network science fiction drama created by Mickey Fisher for CBS, a two-season series that ran for 26 episodes and was canceled before its story was finished. Halle Berry plays astronaut Molly Woods, who returns to Earth after a year-long solo mission in space and tries to slip back into everyday life with her husband John Woods (Goran Višnjić) and their young son Ethan Woods (Pierce Gagnon). Her attempts at domestic normalcy keep colliding with strange developments tied to her time in orbit, and the drama builds around her uneasy reunion with a family that feels changed. Hiroyuki Sanada, Michael O'Neill and Grace Gummer add layers as figures drawn into the unfolding puzzle. Each episode mixes quiet kitchen-table tension with escalating revelations, forming a serialized mystery in which the personal and the cosmic grow steadily entangled. The atmosphere is intimate, uneasy and melancholic, with a sense of wonder shadowed by paranoia. Fans of The X-Files, Fringe and Battlestar Galactica will find resonance in its blend of conspiracy, emotional family stakes and speculative unease.
