## Synopsis

Las Juanas (1997) is a Colombian telenovela created by Bernardo Romero Pereira for RCN and aired on Canal A. Its story follows a cluster of women who all share the name Juana, with Xilena Aycardi as Juana Mani, Angie Cepeda as Juana Valentina, and Catherine Siachoque as Juana Caridad at the center of the drama. Rafael Novoa as Rubén Calixto, Miguel Varoni as Manuel F., and Pepe Sánchez as Calixto Salguero bring the male romantic interests whose pursuits and rivalries drive the tangled plotlines. The engine of the show is romantic entanglement and family loyalty, with lovers, betrayals, and reconciliations unfolding across a single complete run of 113 episodes of roughly forty-five minutes each. Each episode is a serialized chapter of melodrama in the classic Latin American soap tradition, with heightened emotion, confessional moments, and recurring domestic conflict. The tone is warm, sentimental, and openly dramatic, with a comforting familiarity for viewers who love long-form romance. Set in contemporary Colombia during the late 1990s, the series sits in the regional telenovela lineage that also produced Yo Soy Betty, La Fea and Café. Fans of Yo Soy Betty, La Fea and Pasión de Gavilanes will find resonance in its sincere romance and sprawling emotional storytelling.
