## Synopsis

Wild at Heart (Corazón Indomable) is a Mexican telenovela created by Carlos Romero and Inés Rodena for Univision and Las Estrellas, a single-season run of 162 episodes that aired in 2013. Ana Brenda Contreras plays Maricruz Olivares, a poor and innocent woman mistreated by the Narváez family, who is humiliated, abandoned and imprisoned until she learns of her true origins and is transformed into a wealthy and powerful woman. Daniel Arenas plays Octavio Narváez, and Elizabeth Álvarez plays Lucía Bravo de Narváez, whose family sits at the center of the cruelty and rivalry that drives each chapter. Driven by grief over the loss of her father, Maricruz pursues revenge against everyone who made her suffer, while romance tangles her path at every turn. The engine of the series is a steady accumulation of humiliations, reversals, disguises and confrontations, with each episode pushing the vendetta forward through melodramatic twists. Told in the classic soap format, it is a sprawling, emotionally heightened drama with a sincere, sentimental tone and a strong sense of class division. Fans of Yo soy Betty, la fea, La Usurpadora and Rubí will find resonance in its blend of humble heroine, scheming families and romantic melodrama.
