## Synopsis

Reply 1994 (2013) is a South Korean coming of age dramedy created by Shin Won-ho and Lee Woo-jung for tvN, a single season of 21 episodes. Go Ara plays Sung Na-jung, a countryside student who lands in a Seoul boarding house, and Jung Woo, Yoo Yeon-seok and Kim Sung-kyun play her housemates whose lives orbit the same shared kitchen, campus and rivalries. The engine of the show is the slow tangle of friendship and first love, as the young housemates pursue crushes that go unspoken or misdirected while juggling exams, part-time jobs and the boisterous rhythm of communal living. Each episode is built from lively small moments: late night talks, basketball games watched with rapt devotion, and the hip-hop and music that define the era. Set in 1994 Seoul, the series captures the texture of a pre-internet youth culture with affection and warmth. Its tone shifts between breezy humor and wistful longing, and it leans on nostalgia as a comforting emotional register. Fans of Reply 1988, How I Met Your Mother and Friends will find resonance in its ensemble warmth and romantic misfires. The result is a cozy, character driven revisit to a bygone decade of youthful hope.
