## Synopsis

Broken Angel (2013-2015) is a US Spanish-language telenovela created by José Ignacio Valenzuela for Telemundo. Gaby Espino plays Santa Martinez, a woman who sets out to avenge the murder of her husband Willy Delgado, played by Lincoln Palomeque. Her quest pulls her into a web of rivals and allies, including Aarón Díaz as Santiago Cano, Carlos Ponce as Humberto Cano, and Ximena Duque as Inés Robledo, whose loyalties and secrets keep shifting. The engine of the show is the slow, deliberate pursuit of justice through deception, romance and rivalry, with each episode layering new betrayals onto old grudges. Told as a single continuing story across one season of 140 episodes, it follows the classic telenovela rhythm of cliffhangers, reversals and heightened emotion. The mood is melodramatic and passionate, mixing grief, anger and longing with glamour and family conflict. Fans of La Usurpadora, Betty la fea and Rubí will find resonance in its operatic emotional register and its devotion to a vengeful heroine. Set in a contemporary Latin American milieu rendered for a US Spanish-language audience, it is a sprawling, soap-heavy drama built for viewers who love long, twisting stories.
