## Synopsis

Nathan for You (2013-2017) is an American Comedy Central mockumentary reality comedy created by Nathan Fielder and Michael Koman. Nathan Fielder plays a fictionalized version of himself, a business school graduate who offers his unsolicited consulting to real small business owners struggling to turn a profit. Each episode follows his elaborate, deadpan schemes, which range from absurd marketing stunts to wildly over-engineered plans that land him in uncomfortable confrontations with unsuspecting strangers and shopkeepers. The engine of the show is the gap between Nathan's earnest professional confidence and the baffled reactions of everyone he touches, so every episode builds toward a moment of excruciating social tension. Across four seasons of eight, eight, eight and seven episodes, the series keeps a consistent format: a single business problem, a bold proposal, and a long chain of escalating attempts to execute it. Its tone is dry, anxious and uncomfortable, with a documentary look that makes the scenarios feel unscripted. Fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office (US) and Borat will find the same mix of awkward humor and social discomfort here, delivered with a straight face that makes every failed scheme funnier.
