## Synopsis

Secrets of Sand (1993) is a Brazilian telenovela created by Ivani Ribeiro for TV Globo. Twin sisters Ruth and Raquel, with contrasting personalities, rival each other in the fictional coastal town of Pontal D'Areia on the coast of Rio de Janeiro. The cast includes Glória Pires in the dual role of the sisters, alongside Guilherme Fontes, Marcos Frota and Raul Cortez. Its engine is the rivalry between sisters who share a face but not a fate, with romance, family loyalty and social standing pulling the story forward across 203 episodes. Told in long daily installments, it sustains emotional stakes through heightened confrontations, secret loyalties and shifting alliances. Fans of Vale Tudo and Véu de Noiva will find resonance in its sweeping, sentimental soap style, where every betrayal feels personal and every reconciliation arrives with a rush of feeling.
