## Synopsis

The Man Show (1999-2004) is an American sketch comedy series created by Adam Carolla, Jimmy Kimmel and Daniel Kellison for Comedy Central. Hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla front the program, trading crude banter, bawdy jokes and gleefully juvenile stunts that send up a stereotypical male world of beer, gadgets and scantily clad women. Joe Rogan appears in its early run, and a rotating troupe including Bill Foster, Aaron Hamill, Cindy Crawford, Nicole Pulliam, Vanessa Kay, Paula Harrison, Angelique Gorges and Suzanne Sheikh supply sketches and bits. Across six seasons and 117 episodes, the show runs as a loose variety format rather than a continuing story, with each half hour built from segments that mix mock-seriousness with deliberate lewdness. The tone is brash, irreverent and deliberately adolescent, with a wink toward its own excess. Its raunchy, host-driven energy places it in the lineage of cable irreverence, and fans of Tosh.0, Jackass and Mad TV will find a similar appetite for crude parody. Its look is plain studio comedy, the pleasure lying in loud banter and stunt-driven mischief rather than polish.
