## Synopsis

Impractical Jokers (2011-present) is a long-running American hidden-camera reality comedy created by Brian Quinn, James Murray, Joe Gatto and Sal Vulcano, airing on TBS and truTV. Four lifelong friends, Brian Quinn, James Murray, Joe Gatto and Sal Vulcano, play themselves and compete in awkward, outrageous hidden-camera stunts set in ordinary public places. Each episode builds around a set of dares, and the loser must perform the most mortifying challenge of the round, while the other three watch from a hidden vantage and tease every misstep. The engine is simple: who can hold their nerve under pressure and who will crack first in front of strangers. Across thirteen seasons the format stays case-of-the-week, with each episode a self-contained run of pranks rather than one continuing story. The tone is loud, warm and affectionate, a cringe comedy where the humiliation lands on friends who clearly trust each other. Fans of Candid Camera, Jackass and Punk'd will find the same blend of practical joking and public embarrassment, with the emphasis on friendship rather than cruelty. Its appeal is immediate and rewatchable.
