## Synopsis

Liv and Maddie (2013-2017) is an American Disney Channel teen sitcom created by Ron Hart and John D. Beck. Dove Cameron plays Liv Rooney's twin Helga, while Joey Bragg and Tenzing Norgay Trainor play the younger brothers, and Kali Rocha plays Karen Rooney. The engine of the show is the bond between identical twins with clashing personalities: Liv, a former television star back home in Wisconsin, is trying to add movie stardom and a music career to her credits, while Maddie, an outstanding student and basketball phenomenon, is recovering from an injured knee. Their lives are complicated by a household where both parents work at the twins' own high school and the younger brothers are constantly stirring up trouble. Episodes are self-contained comic stories built around school events, celebrity schemes, and family mishaps, so the series works as easy viewing rather than a continuing arc. Across four seasons and eighty episodes, the show keeps a bright, breezy, warm tone with plenty of sibling pranks and gentle slapstick. Fans of Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place and Good Luck Charlie will find a familiar family sitcom comfort here, with a sincere heart beneath the teen-star comedy.
