## Synopsis

Goodnight Sweetheart is a warm British time-slip sitcom that mixes romance, nostalgia and gentle farce. Gary Sparrow, a mild-mannered 1990s London milkman turned would-be author, discovers a passage in the back of a local property that drops him into wartime London in 1944. Each trip back is a chance for romance, danger and wry comedy, as he falls for a married wartime woman while keeping his modern life, marriage and mounting complications in balance. The humour is cosy and character-driven, built on mistaken identities, awkward explanations and the clash of two eras' manners and slang. Underneath the laughs runs a bittersweet thread about longing, loyalty and the cost of living two lives at once. Its tone is affectionate, nostalgic and light, with a strong sense of London's blitz-era spirit and everyday suburban life in the nineties. Viewers who enjoy romantic comedy, wartime nostalgia and quirky premises will find a comforting, bittersweet ride that rewards patience and sentiment.
