## Synopsis

Trail of Lies (Amor à Vida) is a Brazilian telenovela created by Walcyr Carrasco for TV Globo, broadcast in 2013 and 2014 across 221 episodes in a single season. Paloma, a willful woman played by Paolla Oliveira, gives birth only to see her newborn kidnapped by her own brother Félix, played by Mateus Solano, who schemes to become sole heir to the family fortune. On the same night, Bruno, an honest man portrayed by Malvino Salvador, loses his wife and son in childbirth and unexpectedly finds Paloma's child abandoned in a dumpster. Their lives are bound together through a tangle of secrets, revelations and disputes. The engine of the series is the constant pressure of concealed identities and escalating deceit, with each episode layering new confrontations among rival households and the wealthy patriarch César, played by Antônio Fagundes. This long-form soap runs at a leisurely, melodramatic pace, shaped by cliffhanger endings and a large ensemble. Its tone is intense, emotional and theatrical, with a comforting familiarity for fans of the genre. Fans of Avenida Brasil, A Favorita and Pantanal will find resonance here.
