## Synopsis

Pushing Daisies (2007-2009) is an American network fantasy comedy-mystery series created by Bryan Fuller for ABC. Ned (Lee Pace), a pie-maker with the power to bring the dead back to life with a touch, works with his childhood sweetheart Chuck (Anna Friel), who was revived and can never be touched again without dying, a cynical private investigator Emerson Cod (Chi McBride), and a lovesick waitress Olive Snook (Kristin Chenoweth). Together they solve murders for reward money, using Ned's gift to question the victims for a minute before sending them back to death. Each case-of-the-week episode pairs a whodunit with a slowly unfolding romance that Ned cannot consummate, and a storybook narrator frames the proceedings. The two-season series unfolds in a candy-colored small town of pastel houses and pie shops, a world of whimsical mortality and bright surreal set design. Its tone is playful, nostalgic and wistfully romantic, with dark comedy shadowing its premise. Fans of Monk, Dead Like Me and Amélie will find resonance in its quirky charm and offbeat heart.
