## Synopsis

Muppet Babies (1984-1990) is an American animated family comedy created by Jim Henson and Jeffrey Scott for CBS. Baby versions of the Muppets, including Baby Kermit (voiced by Frank Welker), Baby Piggy (Laurie O'Brien), Baby Gonzo (Russi Taylor) and Baby Fozzie (Greg Berg), live in a large nursery watched over by Nanny (Barbara Billingsley). Their engine is pure imagination: bored in the nursery, the babies hop into fantastical make-believe worlds where they become heroes, explorers and performers, and each episode turns a small childhood wish into a full adventure. The show runs seven seasons and one hundred seven episodes of roughly twenty-five minutes, built as self-contained stories with a recurring cast and a playful structure. Its tone is breezy, gentle and joyful, with light musical numbers and warm slapstick humor that keeps the Muppet personalities intact. Set in a timeless nursery world rather than a specific era, it sits in the tradition of Jim Henson puppetry and fans of The Muppet Show, Calvin and Hobbes and Bluey will find the same cozy, imaginative appeal.
