## Synopsis

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (2014-present) is a United States network late-night talk show created as a successor to the long-running Tonight franchise and broadcast on NBC. Host Jimmy Fallon leads each episode with a monologue, celebrity sit-down interviews, and games played with guests, while announcer Steve Higgins sets up the segments. The engine of the show is the rhythm of a single night: a host trying to land every interview and bit before the clock runs out, with celebrity guests, musical performers and playful stunts filling each half hour. After Jay Leno's second retirement, the program moved back to New York after forty-two years in Los Angeles, and it now runs as a long-running returning series with several thousand episodes. The tone is breezy, upbeat and topical, with a nostalgic sense of television tradition. Its shape is episodic and open-ended, a nightly variety hour rather than a plotted story. Fans of Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson will find familiar pleasures here, from monologue jokes to star-studded games.
