## Synopsis

Choujuu Sentai Liveman (1988-1989) is a Japanese tokusatsu super sentai series created for TV Asahi. Students Yusuke Amamiya, Jo Oohara and Megumi Misaki are forced into battle when their friends Gou, Kenji and Rui defect to the evil army Volt and become enemies. Yusuke, Jo and Megumi transform into the Liveman team, using giant mechanical allies that combine into a single machine to fight Volt's monsters and schemes week after week. Android ally Colon, voiced by Makoto Kousaka, supports the heroes, while Great Professor Bias, played by Jouji Nakata, leads the villains. The series runs as one season of 49 episodes, a single continuing story with weekly battles, set in a contemporary Japan of school life and secret organizations. The tone is earnest, colorful and hopeful, with bright action, loyalty between friends and a steady emphasis on teamwork and courage. Fans of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Kamen Rider will find the same transformation heroics and robot combat here, delivered in the classic 1980s sentai style.
