## Synopsis

Mammon (2014-2016) is a Norwegian national-television conspiracy drama series created by Vegard Stenberg Eriksen and Gjermund Stenberg Eriksen for NRK1. Journalist Peter Verås (Jon Øigarden), an uncompromising reporter at Norway's most respected newspaper, receives evidence of financial fraud from an anonymous source, only to discover the evidence points to his own brother. As he pursues the story, the brother takes his own life, and Peter sets out to find the source, learning that it was the brother himself. The search for the truth spreads across media, high-ranking politicians and the financial elite, with Ellen Claussen (Laura Christensen) and Frank Mathiesen (Nils Ole Oftebro) among the principal figures caught in its web. Across two seasons and fourteen hour-long episodes, the engine is steady pressure: each revelation brings Peter closer to power and to danger, and his brother's family is pulled into the fallout. The tone is grave, measured and paranoid, with a restrained Nordic noir atmosphere in which trust is scarce and every conversation carries weight. Fans of Spotlight, Borgen and The Wire will find resonance in its portrait of institutions protecting themselves while a single reporter refuses to look away.
