## Synopsis

El Principe (2014-2016) is a Spanish crime drama series created by Aitor Gabilondo and César Benítez for Telecinco, running two seasons and 31 episodes. Intelligence agent Javier Morey (Álex González) arrives in El Príncipe, a border town facing Morocco, to investigate whether local police are colluding with a terrorist cell. Instead he finds unexpected love with Fátima Ben Barek (Hiba Abouk), the sister of a drug baron, a relationship that threatens his mission and his loyalties. Around them, Jose Coronado as Francisco Peyón, Stany Coppet as Khaled Ashour, and Carla Díaz as Nayat Ben Barek drive a web of trafficking, family rivalry and shifting alliances. The engine of each season is the pressure of a double life, with every secret carrying a cost. The series carries a melodramatic, telenovela-inflected heat, with sun-baked streets and smoldering tension. Its emotional register is intimate and conflicted, mixing thriller urgency with romantic longing. Fans of Vis a Vis, Narcos and The Night Manager will find resonance in its blend of undercover intrigue, criminal families and doomed attraction.
