## Synopsis

Magi (2012-2014) is a Japanese animated shonen fantasy adventure series, produced by A-1 Pictures and broadcast on MBS, running two seasons and fifty episodes. Aladdin, a boy raised in confinement, discovers he is a Magi, a rare magician with the power to choose kings, and sets out with his best friend Ugo, a flute containing a djinn voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa. Along the way he joins forces with Alibaba Saluja (Yuki Kaji), Morgiana (Haruka Tomatsu) and other figures drawn from the Arabian Nights, including Sinbad and Ali Baba. Each episode pushes the group through deserts, cities and dungeons while they confront those who wish to tear down the fate that governs the world. The story moves as one continuing arc, with the adventure and emotional stakes building steadily. The tone mixes sweeping epic scale with warm friendship, a sense of wonder, and moments of dark violence. Its setting is an invented fantasy version of the Middle East, grounded in folklore and magic. Fans of Aladdin, One Piece and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood will find resonance in its shonen energy and destiny-driven adventure.
