## Synopsis

Chozen (2014) is a United States adult animated comedy series created by Grant DeKernion for FX. Its title character, a gay white rapper voiced by Bobby Moynihan, comes out of prison determined to win back his place as the world's top rap artist. Around him move Michael Peña as Ricky, Hannibal Buress as Crisco, Nick Swardson as Troy, and Kathryn Hahn as Tracy, all orbiting his comeback attempts. The engine of the show is the gap between Chozen's ambition and his fragile new worldview, shaped by years behind bars, as he pursues fame and redemption in a crude, self-aware way. Each episode of this single thirteen-episode season is a standalone outing built around music and public image rather than a continuing plot. The show's tone is irreverent, sardonic, and deliberately abrasive, with its lyrics turning a satirical eye on the machismo and misogyny associated with rap. Setting is contemporary American hip hop culture. Fans of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, King of the Hill, and The Eric Andre Show will find a similar appetite for transgressive animated humor and pointed pop culture skewering.
