## Synopsis

Bref (2011-2025) is a French short-form comedy series created by Kyan Khojandi and Bruno Muschio for Canal+ and later Disney+. Kyan Khojandi stars as Je, a lost thirty-something who shares his struggles with failed romances, dead-end jobs and aimless nights out. He is surrounded by a small circle of friends and acquaintances, including Bérengère Krief as Marla, Alice David as Sarah Beretil and Baptiste Lecaplain as Baptiste, with Keyvan Khojandi as Kevyan appearing across the run. The engine of the show is the gap between ambition and routine: Je wants something to matter, but every attempt collapses into boredom, awkwardness or a small humiliation. Each episode lasts about two minutes, so the series is built from brisk, deadpan vignettes that land a joke and move on, with a slow accumulation of character across its run. Set in contemporary Paris, it is a French comedy with a melancholic undertow, a wry and intimate register that feels like sitting beside a friend who has given up on being impressive. Fans of Louie, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Fleabag will find resonance in its observational humor and bittersweet take on ordinary life. Its short runtime makes it an easy show to dip into.
