## Synopsis

Board James (2009-2015) is an American internet comedy series created by James D. Rolfe, the creator of the Angry Video Game Nerd, and produced by Cinemassacre. Rolfe stars as Board James, a host who revisits the classic board games of years gone by, joined by recurring castmates Mike Matei as MotherFucker Mike and Brendan Castner as Bad Luck Bootsy. Across three seasons and twenty-nine short episodes of roughly six minutes each, the show follows a simple engine: the group sits down with a vintage game, learns its quirks and rules, and lets the frustrations and rivalries that come with it play out for laughs. Each season is built as a run of standalone bits rather than one continuing story, so the episodes can be watched in any order. The tone is breezy, irreverent and nostalgic, with a loose, homemade feel that suits fans of retro gaming culture. Its humor is goofy and self-aware, with an affection for old pastimes sitting underneath the jokes. Fans of Angry Video Game Nerd and Tabletop will find a similar mix of host-driven nostalgia and game-focused comedy. The show is best suited to quick viewing sessions where a brief laugh is the goal.
