## Synopsis

Alpha House (2013-2014) is a American political satire comedy series created by Garry Trudeau for Prime Video, an Amazon Studios production. Four Republican senators share the same Washington D.C. house rental, and the series follows the bumbling, sardonic lives of John Goodman's Senator Gil John Biggs, Clark Johnson's Senator Robert Bettencourt, Matt Malloy's Senator Louis Laffer and Mark Consuelos's Senator Andy Guzman. Their engine is survival in a town that rewards scandal and fundraising, so each half-hour episode is built around re-election battles, looming indictments, awkward parties and the constant friction of sharing one cramped house with rivals. The storytelling runs across two seasons of eleven and ten episodes, a single continuing comic arc rather than a case-of-the-week format. It is a Washington political comedy with a satirical edge, carrying a wry, deadpan and irreverent register that treats power as absurd domestic routine. Its tone is sardonic yet affectionate, and its themes of ambition, hypocrisy and self parody give it a sharp observational bite. Fans of Veep and House of Cards will find resonance in its portrait of compromised insiders.
