## Synopsis

Forever is an American network crime procedural that ran for one season on ABC in 2014 and 2015, created by Matthew Miller. Ioan Gruffudd plays Henry Morgan, a New York City medical examiner who has lived for roughly two centuries and quietly studies the dead hoping to uncover the reason for his immortality. He works cases alongside Detective Jo Martinez, whose sharp instincts and growing friendship with him give each episode its warmth, while Judd Hirsch plays Abe, the one confidant who knows his secret. The engine of the show is a weekly murder investigation resolved within a single episode, layered over a slower personal mystery about Henry's long and colorful past, revealed through flashbacks to earlier eras. Its tone is witty and wistful, with a melancholy undercurrent about a man who cannot die and has outlived everyone he loved. Fans of Bones, Elementary and Quantum Leap will find a similar blend of forensic detail, character-driven banter and a hook that reaches beyond the case of the week. The series was cancelled after its single season, leaving its central mystery open.
