## Synopsis

Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends (2011-2013) is a Japanese anime slice of life comedy series created for TBS, produced by AIC Build. Kodaka Hasegawa (voiced by Ryohei Kimura), a new transfer student at St. Chronica's Academy mistaken for a delinquent because of his blond hair and fierce eyes, teams up with the prickly loner Yozora Mikazuki (Marina Inoue) after finding her talking to her imaginary friend Tomo. Together they found a club for students with no friends, and a stream of lonely classmates drifts in, including Sena Kashiwazaki (Kanae Itou) and Kobato Hasegawa (Kana Hanazawa). The engine of each episode is simple: the club tries an activity such as cooking, games or group outings, and each member's social awkwardness gets in the way. The series spans two seasons across twenty-four episodes, and the school setting keeps the stakes small and personal. Its tone is wry and affectionate, with clumsy romantic tension and a warm undercurrent of belonging. Fans of K-On!, Bocchi the Rock! and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU will find the same mix of awkward humor and tender ensemble chemistry.
