## Synopsis

Constantine (2014-2015) is an American dark fantasy series created by Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer for NBC, adapted from the DC comics character. Matt Ryan stars as John Constantine, a cynical occult investigator whose crisis of faith and haunted past leave him unwilling to be a hero, yet he is pulled into defending humanity from gathering supernatural forces. He is joined by Angelica Celaya as Zed Martin, Charles Halford as Chas Chandler, and Harold Perrineau as Manny, a loyal circle who help him chase exorcisms, possessions, ghosts and demonic threats across a modern American city. Each episode is built around a new haunting or demonic case, while a larger darkness builds beneath the surface across the single season. The atmosphere is gritty and brooding, with wry, sardonic humor softening the dread and an underlying meditation on sin, redemption and belief. The series runs thirteen episodes of roughly forty-three minutes and was canceled after one season. Fans of Supernatural, Hellblazer and Sleepy Hollow will find resonance in its blend of occult horror, moral weariness and monster-of-the-week mythology.
