## Synopsis

Selfie (2014) is an American network romantic comedy created by Emily Kapnek for ABC and Hulu. Karen Gillan plays Eliza Dooley, a vain 20-something whose embarrassing viral video turns her into an online punchline. She enlists Henry Higgs (John Cho), a buttoned-up marketing expert, to remake her image in the real world, and their clashing styles drive the engine of the show: every episode pits her instinct for attention against his strategic plans. Supporting turns from David Harewood as Sam Saperstein and Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Charmonique Whitaker add workplace pressure and friction around the pair. The thirteen-episode season is a single continuing story rather than a case of the week, following the couple's slow, bickering pull toward each other. Set in contemporary Los Angeles, the series runs on the glossy, self-aware energy of social media culture, with brisk jokes and a light, cheerful tone. Fans of The Devil Wears Prada, The Mindy Project and Younger will find resonance in its polished, romantic workplace comedy. The show was canceled after one season, so its story stops before the romance fully resolves.
