## Synopsis

The Last Ship (2014-2018) is an American TNT military drama series created by Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane. Commander Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) leads the crew of a lone naval destroyer after a global pandemic has wiped out roughly eighty percent of the planet's population. His mission is to find a cure, stop the virus and pull humanity back from extinction. Executive officer Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin) and doctor Rachel Scott (Rhona Mitra) stand alongside him as principal crew members, and each episode is built around a new obstacle that threatens the ship and its scientific goal. The show runs five seasons as one continuing serialized story with a steady mix of naval action and clinical urgency. Its tone is tense and hopeful, with survival stakes carried by a disciplined military crew and the weight of a lost world. Fans of Battlestar Galactica and Revolution will find resonance in its blend of pandemic dread, military procedure and a search for a future worth saving.
