## Synopsis

The Night Shift (2014-2017) is a US network medical drama series created by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah for NBC. Set in the overnight hours of San Antonio Memorial Hospital in Texas, it follows an ensemble of emergency room doctors and nurses who work when the rest of the city sleeps. Adrenaline junkie T.C. Callahan, played by Eoin Macken, leads the irreverent crew, while Jill Flint plays Jordan Alexander and Freddy Rodriguez plays Michael Ragosa, with Ken Leung and Robert Bailey Jr. rounding out the principal cast. The engine of the show is the steady stream of trauma cases that arrive through the emergency doors, each one testing the team's skill, nerve, and judgment, while personal entanglements and rivalries simmer between shifts. Its episodes are largely self-contained cases woven into longer threads about the staff's relationships and careers, giving the run a serialized undercurrent across four seasons. The tone mixes brisk hospital crisis with a loose, sardonic camaraderie and a restless energy that keeps the wards moving. Fans of ER, Chicago Med and Third Watch will find resonance in its blend of emergency medicine, ensemble camaraderie, and night time urgency. The series was canceled after its fourth season, leaving several storylines open.
