## Synopsis

One Week Friends (2014) is a Japanese animated slice of life romance series adapted from a manga and broadcast on MBS and other Japanese networks. Its twelve episodes, each running about 24 minutes, follow high school sophomore Yuki Hase (voiced by Yoshitaka Yamaya), who learns that his classmate Kaori Fujimiya (voiced by Sora Amamiya) can keep friendship memories for only a week. Rather than give up, Yuki keeps trying to become her new friend every week, and the engine of each episode is the small, awkward work of rebuilding trust from nothing. Supporting characters such as Shogo Kiryu (voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya) and Saki Yamagishi (voiced by Rumi Okubo) surround the pair with the ordinary rhythms of school life, from classroom banter to quiet walks home. The single season is a self-contained, limited run in which the premise repeats while the emotional stakes deepen. The tone is wistful and tender, with a steady undercurrent of sadness that gives the lighthearted school scenes a bittersweet weight. Fans of Your Lie in April, Angel Beats! and Toradora! will find resonance in its blend of youthful romance, fragile emotion and melancholic coming of age.
