## Synopsis

Broad City (2014-2019) is a United States comedy series created by Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson for Comedy Central. Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer star as fictionalized versions of themselves, Abbi Abrams and Ilana Wexler, two young women drifting through their twenties in New York City. Hannibal Buress plays Lincoln Rice, Abbi's laid-back boyfriend, while Arturo Castro's Jaime Castro and Chris Gethard's Todd round out the orbit of friends, lovers, and eccentric acquaintances. The engine is simple: the pair chase a scheme, a job, a party, or a sorry errand across the boroughs, and every small mishap balloons into a sharp set piece. Each half-hour episode is a self-contained outing, a sitcom of errands, awkward encounters, and bold improvisations that treats the mundane as hysterical and faintly disturbing. The tone is playful, bewildered, and irreverent, with a warm core of devoted female friendship. Its handful of recurring characters build a loose continuity across five seasons of ten episodes each. Fans of Girls, Insecure, and Atlanta will find resonance in its candid young adult chaos and its ear for the absurd texture of city life.
