## Synopsis

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (1993-2002) is a Japanese animated shonen action series created as an original video animation, produced by APPP Company and distributed in its 1993 and 2000 seasons. Jotaro Kujo (voiced by Jurota Kosugi) is a high school student who discovers that a spirit-like fighting aura, his Stand named Star Platinum, has manifested around him. When his mother falls ill from a similar Stand, he teams up with his grandfather Joseph Joestar (voiced by Chikao Ohtsuka) and the Egyptian ally Mohammed Abdul (voiced by Kiyoshi Kobayashi) to confront Dio Brando (voiced by Nobuo Tanaka), a vampire-linked villain. The engine of the show is a family vendetta: each battle pits the group against a new Stand user with a distinct ability, and the team must learn how each power works before it can win. Told across two short seasons totaling thirteen episodes, the series plays as a stylized, heightened supernatural adventure with flamboyant poses, dramatic monologues and eerie, bloody confrontations. Its tone is bold, sweeping and theatrical, with a comic edge that sits beside its darker horror. Fans of Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter will find resonance in its power-based battles and bold shonen energy. The second season's reception was notably weaker than the first.
