## Synopsis

Space Dandy (2014) is a Japanese adult animated comedy series created by a Bones studio production team for TOKYO MX and Adult Swim. Its flamboyant protagonist Dandy, voiced by Junichi Suwabe, is a pompadoured alien hunter who roams the galaxy searching for previously unseen species, earning rewards for each discovery as long as he reaches them first. He is accompanied by QT, a rundown robot voiced by Uki Satake, and Meow, a cat-like alien voiced by Hiroyuki Yoshino. The engine of each episode is the chase itself: a new strange creature, a new planet, and a new bit of slapstick trouble. The show runs two seasons of thirteen episodes each, with self-contained stories that can be watched in any order. Set in a colorful far future galaxy, it is a seinen anime that plays as a parody of space adventure, with a breezy, irreverent tone, sharp visual gags, and a sincere affection for its oddball cast. Fans of Cowboy Bebop and Futurama will find resonance in its mix of retro cool, sci-fi absurdity, and easygoing wit.
