## Synopsis

Magnificent Century: Kösem (2015-2017) is a Turkish historical period drama created by Timur Savcı for FOX and Star TV, a two-season spin-off that follows the legendary Kösem Sultan, played by Beren Saat, as she navigates the treacherous palace of seventeenth-century Istanbul. Her goal is to hold influence over the throne while her son Ahmed I, played by Metin Akdülger, comes into his power, and every rival faction in the harem and the court stands in her way. Kemankeş Mustafa Pasha (İsmail Demirci) and Atike Sultan (Ece Çeşmioğlu) bring further layers of ambition and betrayal. Each episode is built from whispered alliances, marriage politics, and open confrontations, sustained across sixty long episodes in a single continuing story. Set in the Ottoman Empire, the series is lavish with jeweled costumes, gilded halls, and sumptuous palace interiors, and its tone is melodramatic, sensual, and tense. Fans of Magnificent Century, The Crown and Reign will find resonance in its blend of court intrigue, female power, and royal rivalry. Audiences who enjoy a sweeping historical soap will find it engrossing.
