## Synopsis

Doctor Stranger is a South Korean medical drama that blends hospital procedurals with a melancholy romance and a cross-border intrigue undercurrent. Park Hoon, raised in North Korea after his family was taken there, escapes to Seoul and works at a prestigious hospital while secretly saving money for a return north to rescue the woman he loves. His plan grows complicated when he meets a woman who looks exactly like his lost love, and every step toward his goal raises new doubt about who she is and what he truly wants. Each episode pairs clinical cases with personal stakes, as colleagues, rivals and mentors pull him into the ethical dilemmas of medicine and the rivalries of the hospital world. The tone is melodramatic and longing, with emotionally heightened moments, tense political undercurrents and a steady grief over displacement. Its contemporary Seoul setting contrasts sharply with the divided peninsula that shapes Park Hoon's past. Viewers who enjoy romantic medical dramas with hidden identity, bittersweet longing and a man chasing a second chance will find much to savour in this single-season series.
