## Synopsis

How to Get Away with Murder (2014-2020) is an American network legal thriller series created by Peter Nowalk for ABC, produced within the Shondaland stable. Viola Davis plays Annalise Keating, a brilliant and mysterious criminal defense professor whose clinic takes in a handful of ambitious law students, among them Connor Walsh (Jack Falahee), Michaela Pratt (Aja Naomi King), Asher Millstone (Matt McGorry), and Wes, as they become entangled in a murder plot that threatens to shake their Philadelphia university. Billy Brown plays Nate Lahey, a detective whose loyalties are constantly tested. The engine is a tangle of secrets: each character wants to protect a private life while the case, and the professor's own compromises, pull them deeper. Each season is a single continuing story of six seasons told across fifteen episodes apiece, with flash forwards to the central crime interleaved with the semester's events, so every episode carries both dread and a new revelation. The tone is glossy and sensual, with propulsive suspense, sharp courtroom confrontations, and a steady undercurrent of paranoia and moral rot. Fans of Scandal, Suits and Dexter will find resonance in its polished, morally gray antiheroes and serialized mystery.
