## Synopsis

Numb3rs (2005-2010) is a US crime procedural created by Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton for CBS, running six seasons and 118 episodes before its cancellation. Los Angeles FBI agent Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) turns to his brilliant younger brother, mathematics professor Charlie Eppes (David Krumholtz), whenever a case stalls. Charlie models kidnappings, bombings and robberies with probability, graph theory and statistics, while Don and his team chase suspects through the city's streets. Judd Hirsch plays their father Alan Eppes, a retired math-minded family anchor, and Alimi Ballard, Navi Rawat and Peter MacNicol round out the investigators and academic colleagues. The engine is a case of the week, but a loose serial thread gives the show momentum across seasons. Each episode stages a fresh puzzle, a mounting clock and a clean reveal in which numbers expose the culprit. The tone is brisk, earnest and warmly collegial, with the brothers' friction giving the crime work its emotional heart. Fans of Bones, Monk and The Mentalist will find resonance in its cerebral take on the police procedural.
