## Synopsis

BoJack Horseman (2014-2020) is an American adult animated comedy-drama series created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg for Netflix. Will Arnett voices BoJack Horseman, a washed-up former sitcom star living in a Hollywood where humans and anthropomorphic animals coexist. He is joined by Aaron Paul as Todd Chavez, his aimless, goodhearted housemate, and Alison Brie as Diane Nguyen, a ghostwriter who becomes his reluctant confidante. Paul F. Tompkins plays the relentlessly cheerful Mr. Peanutbutter, and Amy Sedaris and Lisa Kudrow voice further principal and recurring characters. The engine of the series is BoJack's persistent wish to reclaim relevance and find real connection while his own self-destructive habits keep sabotaging him. Each season unfolds as a serialized run of twelve to sixteen episodes, six seasons in all, with absurdist gags built around celebrity culture giving way to harder reckoning with addiction, depression and regret. The tone blends melancholy with sharp satire, wry humor and surreal visual invention. Fans of Archer, Louie and Curb Your Enthusiasm will find resonance in its cynical, self-aware take on fame and failure.
