## Synopsis

Glue (2014) is a British limited series created by Jack Thorne for E4. Set in the small countryside village of Overton, where farming is the economic backbone and racehorses are the community's pride, the eight-episode miniseries follows James Warwick (Billy Howle) and a cluster of local young people and adults, including Eli Bray (Callum Turner), Tina Fallon (Charlotte Spencer) and Ruth Rosen (Yasmin Paige), as a body discovered under a tractor sets off a investigation that exposes the hidden lives of the whole community. DCI Simson (Adrian Rawlins) leads the official inquiry, but the real engine of the show is the slow pressure of neighbours, families and friends who each have something to hide. Each episode peels back another layer of rural routine, turning familiar landscapes and stables into places of suspicion. The tone is brooding and tense, with a restless teen drama undercurrent and an adult murder mystery running beneath it. Fans of Broadchurch, Happy Valley and Skins will find resonance in its close-knit community, moral unease and the way ordinary lives fracture under scrutiny. Told as one continuous story across a single run, it rewards close attention to who knows what and when.
