## Synopsis

Strike the Blood (2013-2022) is a Japanese animated urban fantasy series produced by CONNECT and SILVER LINK., broadcast on AT-X across five seasons and 58 episodes. Ordinary high school student Kojou Akatsuki, voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya, learns that a chance encounter has made him the fourth primogenitor, a near-mythical vampire of immense power. The Lion King Organization sends apprentice sword-shaman Yukina Himeragi (voiced by Risa Taneda) to monitor him and, if necessary, eliminate him, and the two are pushed into an uneasy partnership. The engine of the series is Kojou's struggle to accept his abilities while he and Yukina defend Itogami Island's Demon District from a steady run of emerging chaotic supernatural threats. Episodes are built around magic battles, sword duels and supernatural crises, layered over an ongoing story of shifting alliances. Its tone blends playful school comedy and fan-service flirtation with brisk action and a cheerful, sometimes earnest sense of camaraderie. Set in a contemporary Japanese island city where vampires, sword-shamans and other factions coexist, it draws on the light novel tradition of shonen-style supernatural action. Fans of High School DxD and Rosario + Vampire will find similar pleasures in its school-based vampire fantasy.
